Sunday School and Christian Café Hour (Baptist Training Union)

Sunday School and Christian Café Hour (also known as Baptist Training Union), are the training arms of our church. No matter your age, Sunday School will help you learn more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are now in our Summer Quarter. Our study focus for the months of June, July and August, 2015: “God Demands Justice”.

There are three units:
Unit 1 — Indictments Against Injustice (4 lessons) Unit 2 — Appeals to the Unjust for Justice (4 lessons) Unit 3 — Advocates of Justice for All (5 lessons)

Our BTU study is: BAPTIST ARTICLES OF FAITH — Tenets for Life (Part 2)

This series is the second of two parts dealing with the Articles of Faith of our Baptist denomination.

The Articles of Faith are appropriately called “Tenets of Life.” The framers of our polity, policy and

practices as Baptists recognized the place, purpose and priority of a set of principles that would

serve to guide Baptist life. Baptist must stand firm upon the Word of the Lord. Each Article of Faith

will be given exhaustive coverage from a biblical perspective and a cultural/contemporary context. From BAPTIST TRAINING UNION Series—A publication of the National Baptist Convention, USA

Classes for Sunday School and BTU are conveniently scheduled between our two services. Sunday School begins at 9:00 am with BTU following at 10:15 am. We have great teachers and this is a time to ask questions and get answers to those passages you have been wondering about. We have classes to fit every leaning style. JUST TRY IT! And don’t forget you little ones!

Sister to Sister

Sister to Sister is a ministry serving women ages 19 and up. This ministry is under the umbrella of the

Mission Department. Sister Loretta Wilson is the president.

Our purpose is to encourage and support Christian Women in the growing process of learning about Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, through studying, fellowship and prayer. We aim to teach our members to be good Christian women. Our goal is to set a good example for the younger women of the church to look up to. We desire to show our love and compassion to those in need, while continuing to grow in strength and excel in knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our first meeting was held on September 21, 2013. Evangelist Carolyn Fitzpatrick soon joined us as our teacher. She is teaching on the Titus 2 Woman.

Sister to Sister also has an outreach ministry for college students of True Love Baptist Church. We contact the students after a year and have them give us a list of some of the things they need in school. We have successfully served two students and we’re now focusing on our third student.

Sisters, we welcome you to come and join us on the 4th Saturday of each month, at 10:00 am in the Educational Building.

The Importance of the Lord’s Supper Table

The Lord’s Supper Table is a very important part of our Christian faith. The only ordinances of our church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper, or as it is often called communion. 1 Corinthians 10:15-30 presents us with an understanding of how sacred and holy the Lord’s Supper table is to the Christian church. It is a celebration that is to be honored, glorified, and reverenced as often as possible. Every saved person should anticipate and desire to participate in this fellowship with other saints because it strengthens our faith in Christ as we wait for His return for our souls.

The apostle Paul warns the newly converted people of Corinth about compromising the sacredness of the communion with the world. That means that we have an obligation to safeguard and protect our way of understanding and worship from the enemies who come to steal, rob, and destroy. Let’s not confuse the Lord’s Supper table with other tables of the world, especially that table of the demons. Instead of learning about other tables of the world, study the real table and all the others will expose themselves to you. Other tables of the world are not the same as ours and it is important for us to separate ourselves from heathens, idolatrous and immoral man-made practices.

We must maintain our principles by standing on the Word of God. Compromising our integrity about the Lord’s Supper Table is not optional. We must continue to be conscience and concerned about the godless world around us. We cannot be so high and lifted up that we are foolishly ignoring the ways of the world. The world tries to emulate what we do as the church to persuade wishy-washy Christians to forsake Christ and follow them. This Christian life is not as difficult as it may seem and it is very rewarding in the present and future.

This faith that we are in can be reduced to simplicity by remembering a game I learned as a child. The game was called “Follow the Leader”.

Therefore, as the leader of True Love Missionary Baptist Church, who follows Jesus Christ, I hope that you will follow me as the leader that the Lord has placed over this church. As the leader, I say to all of you in our great, growing church family, remember to come and worship on the first Sunday of each month to celebrate in reverence and sacredness, the blessed opportunity to meet with me at the Lord’s Supper table for fellowship. May this enrich, empower, and encourage you to trust in the Lord with all thine heart.

God bless

Dr. H. B. Robinson, Jr.
